What is UNBUZZD™ in a Nutshell?

Small focus group research indicates UNBUZZD™ reduces BrAC faster than what the body would do naturally. Clinical trials are being planned for further validation.

Greater Purpose

Today’s recovery drinks have one goal: to relieve undeniable discomfort after a night out of drinking, infamously known as the “hangover.” UNBUZZD™ is more than a hangover cure product. Our purpose is to re-shape the paradigm by taking an innovative approach to reduce the burden of the aftermath effects of excess alcohol consumption on society. In short, we understand that one person’s inebriation can impact countless others.

A Pervasive Problem

According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (madd.org):

  • 2 out of 3 people will be affected by drunk driving in their lifetime.
  • Every 45 minutes someone is killed in a drunk driving crash.
  • Every 90 seconds someone is injured in a drunk driving crash.

According to the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) by the US Department of Health and Human Services (www.samhsa.gov): 

  • 66.9% people aged 18+ reported that they drank alcohol in the past year
  • 51.7% people aged 18+ reported that they drank in the past month
  • 23.3% people aged 18+ reported engaging in binge drinking in the past month

The NSDUH also discovered an emerging trend of “high intensity drinking,” defined as consuming alcohol at levels that are two or more times the gender-specific binge drinking thresholds. People experiencing high intensity drinking were 70x more likely to have an alcohol-related Emergency Room (ER) visit compared to people that don’t binge drink.

Another spill-over consequence is when inebriated individuals end up in the ER, and the resources that need to be dedicated to attend to such people in the ER setting. 

Alcohol intoxication is a common presentation in many patients who visit hospital emergency rooms, and I see this during every one of my shifts. These presentations can require substantial time and effort to manage. Anything that could accelerate recovery from alcohol-intoxication would free up valuable health care resources and provide additional treatment options for alcohol use disorders.

What Happens to Alcohol in the Body?

Alcohol, also known with its chemical name ethanol, is metabolized by several processes or pathways in our body. Most commonly, ethanol is broken down by alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and metabolizes into acetaldehyde, a toxic substance and a known carcinogen. Although the compound is short lived, acetaldehyde is responsible for the psychological effects, inebriation, and potential liver damage from increased alcohol consumption.


Consuming alcohol causes a rise in BrAC, a well-established estimate of BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). In 49 states in the USA, a BrAC reading of 0.08 and above can result in criminal charges. In Utah, the illegal BrAC level is 0.05 and above. Across the entire U.S., drivers can also face charges for sub-0.08 BrAC readings under appropriate impaired driving laws.

These laws are in place because alcohol consumption interferes with the brain’s communication pathways, altering the way the brain functions. The disrupted pathways reduce function of key areas of the brain responsible for:

  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Memory
  • Speech
  • Judgment

All of which alone or in combination can lead to injury and negative outcomes related to poor decision making.

Only Time Could Help

First, let’s debunk any and all current anecdote to alcohol intoxication, as our product is intentionally designed to rid all ineffective pseudoscience methods. Cold showers, coffee, naps, energy drinks, exercise, carbon capsules, and other purported solutions do nothing to quickly reduce BAC levels. The liver simply needs time to filter blood and process alcohol.


According to the U.S. National Institute on Alcohol, Abuse and Alcoholism, a “standard drink” or “alcoholic drink equivalent” is any drink containing 14 grams, or about 0.6 fluid ounces, of “pure” ethanol. This amount is found in 12 ounces of regular beer (with 5% alcohol by volume or alc/vol), 5 ounces of table wine (with 12% alc/vol), or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled spirits (with 40% alc/vol). While a number of factors (e.g., gender, age, some medications, illness) can cause BAC to rise or fall at different rates, it is understood that alcohol is metabolized by the body at an average rate of 0.015 g/100mL/hour, which equates to about one standard drink per hour for men. Our formulation was curated through scientific research to expediate recovery from inebriation and to accelerate ethanol metabolism in your body, potentially eliminating any performance concerns today or tomorrow. A Beverage!

UNBUZZD™ is a beverage by design for a quick onset of action, simply pop-open and drink! 

Since the product is already served as a liquid, the onset of action would be expedited when compared to tablets, capsules, pills. While there are few advantages to tablets/pills/capsules, when consumed, they need to disintegrate to be available in the blood stream for absorption. Conversely, oral liquids are either in dissolved or dispersed state resulting in a quicker start or onset of action.
